Black hole: Whole theory changed?

After nearly 30 years of arguing that a black hole destroys everything that falls into it, Stephen Hawking is saying he was wrong. (New Scientist)

Black holes are regions of space where the gravitational force is so strong that nothing, not even light, can escape.

Once thought to be purely destructive forces, they are now thought to play a crucial role in galaxy formation.

Cosmologists believe that there are many types of black hole, ranging from mini holes with the mass of a small mountain to super-massive holes that lie at the centre of galaxies. (Telegraph UK)

Hawking's new findings could even help solve the "black hole information paradox", a crucial puzzle of modern physics. (BBC)

But no detail maths has not revealed yet. He will present his ideas at the 17th International Conference on General Relativity and Gravitation in Dublin, Ireland on July 21, 2004. (Conference Website)

Let's see!

# Professor Stephen Hawking: British cosmologist. 62 years old. Crippled with motor neurone disease for the past 40 years. Occupied the chair once held by Newton at Cambridge University since 1979.

# All about Black Holes: Black holes are predictions of Albert Einstein's theory of general relativity.

# Now please don't attaint me asking Why Black Hole Is Not Green or what can be the aftermath of Hawking radiation or blah blah blah. Because today I am upset. Totally Upset. I did some major, funny, silly, predictable and irreversible mistakes in my physics exam.

So, right now, black hole, green hole or manhole stuff is not my goal.

Let me do my favorite job: freelance dreaming.

mmm ... freelancer ... i was just wondering when did Stephend H. found he had made a mistake ... cos i remember to be taught sth like tht (blackhole's role in galaxy formation) last year in my Astrophysics course ... mmm ... may be our course instructor was quoting someone else ... mmm ... ahh, my poor brain ... need help ... zzzzzzzzzz
